I’ve come across an interesting pianist, Jobert Gaigher. He plays both Brazilian and American standards. I thought I’d share a few of his tunes.
First up are two from the Great American Songbook, “Smile” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” After that are two Brazilian tunes, “Eu sei que vou te amar” by Jobim and Moraes and “Samambaia” by the great Cesar Camargo Mariano. He says that “Cesar is the musician who by far influenced me the most, and continues to influence my music today, and certainly forever”–homage to a great pianist who is well worth a listen.
Enjoy!
