Rhodes is at it again with its latest VST plugin, Pianology. This adds a Japanese upright, an American grand, and a unique Japanese electric grand—think the iconic Yamaha CP-70–to its recent brilliant Rhodes and Wurlitzer offerings. Here are a couple of examples.
Because of how Rhodes has treated the Wurlitzer, I am really interested to see how it handles the CP-70. Famous for its use in many rock classics, it was also used extensively by César Camargo Mariano both in his solo work and his work as arranger and accompaniast for Elis Regina. Since I have a captive audience, I will share a couple of tunes. They are old recordings, and the sound isn’t the greatest, but they’re still worth a listen. Enjoy!
