Such a special rendition of Alfie

I am sure this is a very atypical request but I better do this while I am very new here and don’t know better…I mean it. Hopefully, you can extend me some grace

But curiosity got a hold of me and I would very much like to know how this rendition of Alfie hits some of you. It’s not a piano rendition and that’s I why I am worried about posting it here. But I think it musically merits the attention.

A little background:
“Pat Metheny’s baritone guitar on the 2011 album What’s It All About (a mostly solo acoustic record featuring covers) is a steel-string acoustic model built by luthier Linda Manzer. He used a custom “half-Nashville” or partial Nashville tuning, where the guitar is tuned overall down a fifth from standard (low to high: A-D-G-C-E-A, instead of standard E-A-D-G-B-E).
The key modification is that the middle two strings (G and C) are tuned an octave higher than they would be in a full low baritone tuning, creating a brighter, more harmonic-rich sound similar to Nashville tuning but only on those strings.”

Pat’s rendition spends just under 4 minutes building interesting tensions with subdued resolutions…but then at the mark of 3:43, after strumming a very brief dissonant segment, it then starts a string of incredibly satisfying resolutions…with such a joyful abandonment!!! (It then returns somewhat to the initial mood and then the tune is over.)
