Thanks for sharing these @Alain - you’re making quick progress with the jazz standards lessons so congrats :sunglasses: :+1:

I see you’re not reading a lead sheet in any of the videos which is the best way to play these tunes. It allows us to immerse ourselves in our playing and perform more creatively and spontaneously. Keep that habit!

It’s also great that you’re adding your own touches such as arpeggios and rhythmic variations to personalise the arrangements.

Your rendition of “Georgia” is my favourite. You might like to check out this lesson where we look at some blues/gospel style voicings. I love to play these in my performances of “Georgia” at the end of the 1st A section when the rests:

at the end of this lesson I transpose the voicings to the key of F and apply to the “The Nearness Of You” - and the exact same progression/fill works nicely in “Georgia” as both tunes have similar harmony in the A Sections.

Connecting Jazz Standards

For “Moon River” and “Fly Me To The Moon”, it can be fun to connect these songs with a 1625 progression in the key of C Major to create a continuous stream of music and transition seamlessly from one tune to the next.

Check out this “Christmas Song Medley” tutorial where all 3 songs are also in the key of C and I connect them with 1625 progressions:

Experiment with this same technique to connect “Moon River” and “Fly Me To The Moon” and even create a blend of standards and Xmas tunes to perform over the Christmas period.

Congrats again on your progress!

Thanks alot for that detailed feedback.
I will try your advice.
