I’ve been unsuccessful in finding out what this symbol means. Even the Complete List of Music Symbols does not have it… should I just forget about it or does it really mean something important in jazz music? It’s from some jazz tune, I circled it in red. Hopefully, someone will know.

I might be wrong, but could it just be a symbol for piano (meaning ‘quiet’), just with a weird font?

Thank you both. I had no idea, looks like some Egyptian symbol to me (haha), but yeah, piano as in quiet makes a lot of sense.
