Here’s some F blues records I used for inspiration for the new blues lesson section:

Bill Evans Trio - Blues In F

Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Moanin’

Hank Mobley - Greasin’ Easy:

Cannonball Adderly - Straight No Chaser:

Enjoy and don't forget to share your own favourites with the community!

Thanks Hayden! Great recordings! Will add a couple of these to my LP collection. Bill E is my favorite of course…

My pleasure Lori!

Yes Bill Evans F Blues is also my favourite… I wanted to include a lesson on his block chord style at 3:22s … such a great sound!

I did transcribe a little of it… he’s still sticking in the F Blues scale for most of it and just playing left hand voicings in unison underneath. Simple yet effective to add extra energy to the solo.

This is a really great record to start transcribing from!

Cheers :slightly_smiling_face:

This recording of Wes Montgomery in 1965 is an awesome rendition of Blues in F. My son plays guitar and I play piano and we are using this as inspiration.
